All I found were harsh criticts on a play that moved me and inspired me: "Waiting for Lefty" at CHAC. Maybe it is a good thing I am not a professional theater critic, and just a simple spectator that judges a play by whether it stirs any emotions in me or not. Maybe it was its political tone what I enjoyed.
A dramatic story set in the U.S. in the 1930's where a group of New York City taxi drivers are voting to go on strike in the face of violent opression. The problems they face are no different than the ones we live today, result of life in a capitalist system. A family's life in poverty; a young's couple break up because of the differences in their financial status; a successful jew female doctor fired from her job because of discrimination; a chemist pressured to do unethical research by the rich owner of the Lab where he works.
At the end, all the characters stay true to their values.
Realmente las cosas han cambiado poco. Los pobres siempre son los mismos.
