Dia de Guadalupe Pilgrimage

Thousands and thousands pilgrimage by foot to the main Cathedral to honor the Virgen de Guadalupe (Virgin Mary) who once, on December 12, appeared to Saint Juan Diego.
These pilgrimages happen every year in all cities across the country. People walk for days and days until they reach the Cathedral closest to the town where they live. Others go as far as Mexico City to the Basilica de Guadalupe. Some make the journey walking on their knees as a sacrifice.
